Microtopping® for floors and walls creates sense of space

Ideal Work Microtopping® / 75m2
Creating a sense of space with clever interior design and flooring material selections.
The brief
Working with talented interior designer Sara Mungeam from Casa London, our brief was to create a bespoke Microtopping® finish in a kitchen and bathroom.
The action
Ideal Work Microtopping is an extremely versatile, surprisingly cost-effect microcement medium. Applied by hand, by our qualified installation team, we combine different colour tones and textures to create a unique Microtopping finish every time.
For this residential project, Sara selected a smoke shade, and we were tasked to create subtle pattern and movement of colour across all surfaces.
We applied Microtopping® across the kitchen and bathroom, covering floors, walls and ceilings – leaving no visible joins, to achieve a seamless look. Combined with inventive lighting designed by Sara, this gave a great feeling of space.
In the bathroom, a special polyurethane sealer finished with a matt effect, provided waterproofing protection without detracting from the natural beauty of the Microtopping® microcement finish.
The result
We created a connected space, which contrasts well with other key features and textures, such as the hexagonal ceramic tiles used in the bathroom.
This natural and spacious look was highly cost effective in comparison to alternatives such as polished plaster or some ceramic tiling finishes – and the results were equally as impressive.
