The brief
Facit Homes, innovators in sustainable home design, invited us to install natural looking, durable polished concrete flooring.
The action
The Lake House was a residential design project, led by Facit Homes. Our role was to supply and create a natural flooring finish, as part of a design scheme that reflected the simplicity and earthy tones of the lakeside setting.
As polished concrete experts, we recommended the use of our own PCC800 mix. Our qualified installation team mixed brown tones into the product, and we hand trowel the concrete to create gentle movement and texture across the space.
We sanded the newly laid floor and staircase to a matt satin finish, to which we applied a natural water-based sealant to protect this high-traffic living space.
The result
The final floor was shortlisted in the Contract Flooring Journal for ‘Floor of the Year’ – highlighting our success in meeting the architect and client briefs and showing that sustainable can also be beautiful.
