Managing Director of The Flooring Co Ltd , with over 33 years of experience working within the contract flooring industry and still learning. “Everyday’s a school day.” Constantly looking for ways to improve how we do things, and always with the help of my loyal long-standing team. “Team work makes the dream work.” Husband, Father, a little thin on top and a follower of Jesus.

I have worked in the commercial flooring industry for nearly 20 years all of which has been spent working alongside John, the Company Director. My role withing the Flooring Co is as senior estimator and I am responsible for overseeing all elements of the tendering process from enquiry to estimate.

I started working in the flooring industry at the ripe old age of 19, and know over 20 years later have 3 children and a loving husband, all whilst keeping a steady stream of tenders being returned.

I did returned to Uni part time for a period to continue my professional training or as John says, take a break… My hobbies are reading, socialising, live music and travelling, I’m just as comfortable in a caravan as I am in a 5 star hotel. I have a guilty conscience, a love for humour and find nothing in life can’t be solved with a large glass of wine and a heart-felt laugh.

18 years’ experience in the construction environment. Always looking for ways to create a team ethos by working closely with main contractors to provide an efficient well organised contract. Working to help The Flooring Co brand expand and eventually pass on my experience to new contract managers. Self confessed foodie and travel mad. Married with two kids and part of The Flooring Co family for over two years now.

I have worked at The Flooring Co for approaching 5 years now and have progressed from Labourer to Contracts Assistant. I came into the industry with no prior knowledge so am still relatively new compared to my colleagues, but I enjoy learning on the job. I am now predominantly responsible for procurement and logistics on current projects as well as helping with the day-to-day management of our labour force. Furthermore, I perform material take-offs using dedicated software to produce quantified drawings for our estimators to work from.

Outside of work I am a huge football fan and suffer weekly at the hands of West Ham United. I am also a vinyl record obsessive and enjoy nothing more than hours upon hours spent crate digging to help bolster my collection; much to my wife’s disgust! I (just about) play guitar and love reading a good novel, having studied English Literature at University (something which my colleagues enjoy using against me with the less than affectionate nickname, Spellcheck!)

I have worked at The flooring Co for the last 7 years, my job is to manage our boutique Polished Concrete Company from enquiry to completion.

The role is varied, meeting with architects designers and clients, ordering materials and having creative input on amazing projects can be very rewarding. Going to make site visits especially in January is maybe not as exciting. Seeing finished photos from some of the fabulous projects we have been involved with in magazines makes it worth it though!

Outside of work I am a Pastoral leader in a vibrant Church in Central London. I am also a professional Counsellor and I do voluntary work for a women’s prison ministry. God and Emotional regulation techniques are very helpful tools for working in the Construction Industry.

Passionate about family friends and feeding them all with delicious healthy home cooked food. Love my Dance Exercise classes which I do with the curtains drawn as I don’t want to scare the neighbours!

I have been a part of The Flooring Co family for nearly 10 years now and am responsible for managing the company accounts on a day to day basis.

I started off as an Admin Assistant but studied Accountancy at College and then worked my way up to my current position as Accounts Manager. My role encompasses everything from the company payroll to cash flow management. I am also a constant thorn in our Director’s side when he wants to invest in his latest scheme as I love to say no to him!

When I haven’t got a tight hold of the company purse strings, I enjoy spending time with my partner and my two lovely daughters who are 6 & 10 (I know, I only look 18!). However, these all play second fiddle to the real love of my life, my beautiful Cockapoo called Bear; who I am planning to elope with eventually.

I am relatively new to the company and have worked as a Floor Layer for over 30 years, the last 10 as a supervisor. Since joining the team I have to say that I am very impressed with the professionalism, forward thinking attitude and inclusive team work that they show not only to their staff but also to their customers. Over my many years of being on my knees, I have worked all over the country in some amazing and strange places from a multi-million pound rockstar’s mansion to HMP Brixton. I’m a very proud father of 5 brilliant children and a partner to a very supportive woman who is by my side and encourages me in everything I do. Something of a surprise for people to know about me is that I was a black belt Karate instructor for many years – some may say that you never forget, but I think this slightly older body may disagree – not sure that I can still do box splits!

Being part of a winning team means happy endings with no dramas. Proud dad of two wonderful sons. Blessed with great friends and family. Loving life.
