The brief
To refurbish the fourth floor office space at 5 Golden Square with natural, sustainable sisal flooring.
The action
5 Golden Square provides office space in the heart of Soho and is home to leading brands such as Sony, M&C Saatchi and Ingenious Media.
Working with London contractors and long-term clients Imperial Building Solutions, we managed all elements of flooring involved in the refurbishment of 4th Floor offices, meeting spaces and communal zones.
Originally briefed to supply and fit industry standard office carpet tiles, we quickly established that the client was keen to explore alternative, more sustainable options.
We recommended Alternative Flooring’s Sisal Panama Donegal as this natural flooring product offers the robust durability required for busy office spaces, alongside great sustainability credentials.
Working with sisal presented key installation challenges. For example, to avoid shrinkage, the new carpet had to acclimatise to the 5 Golden Square environment for 48 hours prior to installation. We also worked to develop a detailed cutting plan, to minimise waste in support of the client’s sustainability goals.
Results
By listening carefully to the client brief, we went above and beyond to source, supply and fit the right flooring product.
Management of this potentially challenging flooring material enabled us to achieve an exceptional finish across all spaces.
