Karndean luxury vinyl tiles / 300m2
As flooring contractors, we play our part in transforming a historic building into the Poplar Baths Leisure Centre and Gym.
The brief
To manage all aspects of contact flooring across large areas of this community leisure development.
The action
As trusted flooring partners, working with building contractor Guildmore we surpassed expectations to deliver a luxurious finish across this development project.
Located in Tower Hamlets, London, the Poplar Baths Leisure Centre and Gym was an ambitious Tower Hamlets Council redevelopment project to improve leisure facilities for the local community.
Our role was focused on the supply and installation of flooring, with consideration for conserving the beautiful features of the original 1930s building.
We sourced, supplied and installed a variety of different flooring products including: Karndean Van Gogh luxury vinyl tiles, Polyflor XL vinyl tiles, Heckmondwike Supacord carpet tiles and Forbo Marmoleum marbled flooring. We also used industry-approved adhesives from F. Ball and accessories from Gradus.
The result
This project transformed a derelict 1930s Grade II listed building and London landmark back to its former glory, placing at the heart of the local community once more.
Tower Hamlets now has improved access to facilities for a variety of sports, including activities for children and adults with disabilities such as: badminton, gymnastics, trampolining and netball. We also worked with Guildmore to complete 60 new council homes, designed by CZWG Architects on the same site.
