The government has recently announced new measures to help more people get onto the property ladder as part of a £12.2bn investment in increasing affordable housing.
£700m of the programme will be invested in new homes through the 2016 to 2022 programme, whilst the remaining £11,5bn will be used within a new Affordable Homes Programme (AHP) which will run five years from 2021 to 2026.
At The Flooring Co we’ve always been at the forefront of the industry and are always keeping up to date on what’s happening in and around the construction sector.
With this in mind, we’ve been gradually changing our business model to facilitate the new build housing market to help establish ourselves as leaders in this sector.
We now have the facility to cut, store and deliver carpets direct to site, cutting costs and overcoming long lead times. We also have direct accounts with most of the UK`s leading carpet and LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) manufacturers, providing us with competitive buying rates which we can pass on to our clients.
We’ve carefully selected who we work with to ensure we provide flooring which is perfectly suited to affordable housing, perfectly combining excellent value with comfort and durability.
The Moduleo Transform range is our choice for new build kitchens, bathrooms and halls, with its versatile collection of bold wood and stone designs, in tiles, planks and XL sizes. This range impresses with a sleek design, playful accent, rustic atmosphere and luxurious setting – all whilst remaining practical and durable.
Where possible, we like to use locally sourced products, which is why Manchester- based Cormar Carpets is our go-to for bedroom carpets. They offer a fast turnaround as well as a large range of colours and styles including Easy Clean, Soft Pile, Wool Twist and Wool Loop. The Easy Clean range benefits include being stain-resistant and pet friendly, whilst Soft Deep Pile provides a luxurious, cosy feel.
With our 30 years of experience as leading contract flooring specialists, we’re already well-positioned to help the new build housing sector. And with the changes we’re currently making, we aim to fully establish ourselves in this market.
The quantity of repeat work we receive from some of the UK’s best house builders further confirms the level of trust we’ve gained in the industry, and we look forward to sharing more updates on our new build vision in the coming months ahead.
